I'm sorry that this is a long post, but it is important- if you do not want to fully read it, skim it and get the the meat of it.
I am, by nature, very cynical when it comes to almost all politicians.
When I first heard of Ron Paul I wanted to know everything about him, what was his 'game' and if he played by the rules or just acted like it. I have to say that Ron Paul is the first politician that I have actually liked and have never heard him say anything that rubbed me the wrong way.
Many a politician talks a fine talk, but when it comes to walking that talk, they do not do so well.
But this post is not about Ron Paul, but it can be.
This is about Obama. I watched carefully and listened intently and I heard the talk, which he talks a good talk. But that talk was nothing at that point in time since the race was still in the running. They will say anything.
My question is, will Obama walk the talk or is he just going to be a player like the rest?
I have been concerned with the movements of Obama; ditching the reporters and going to a private meeting while the reporters are left on the plane and then the plane takes off. Then finding out that the meeting was with Hillary at Diane Feinstein's house in DC, at the same time as the Bilderburg meetings.
Both of these women have been to a Bilderburg meeting.
With actions like that, it's almost screaming in my head "NOT GOOD".
Then again, there is that idea, keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
"Change" the term was used by Ron Paul and when he dropped out, Obama's campaign picked it up. I noticed this and it rubbed me the wrong way. Not because it was 'stolen' but because I am skeptical of what a politicians intentions really are.
I was pleased with Ron Paul's response to Obama's use of the word 'Change'
By chance, I came across
www.change.gov which is Obama’s site to America
I strolled through the site and although I am still skeptical, I was impressed with what I saw there.
He has made a place where citizens can share their thoughts and those thoughts are being posted on the site. He (says) wants to hear our stories and our vision.
It seems that he will have a weekly 'broadcast' to the citizens.
He even has a place on his website where you can put in a application for employment.
Might there be some potential here? A president that is there for the people, wants to hear from the people and not just congress or reps? A president that will make this a government that is by the people? Literally?
Could he be thinking and just not saying....to anyone; a new government?
Quotes from site:
Michael in Reno, NV is more philosophical:
“My humble request to my future President: Remain true to who you are. Concern yourself more about doing your job than with keeping your job. Call upon the strength of the American people to realize that dream that belongs to each and every one of us, and lead us to it.”
Christy from Dallas, TX, wrote
"In your victory speech, you made a huge promise to America...and you spoke to me -- a McCain supporter....If you follow through on those promises, I know you will do great things for America....Please keep your word. Work with those of us that disagree. We can learn so much from one another."
I see this as a very bold action and speaks volumes, in a good way....that is if it is for real. Only time will show the true nature of the website, this man and his intentions.
Maybe there is hope.
We can have loads of 'fun' and find many ways to push it and test it and to know for sure if this is something that is really For the People and see if Obama wants to get the government back to being the By the People
I say we push it and test it. I say we go straight to the top, straight to the man who says he will bring change with all these issues that we have been struggling with.
We might discover that our messages are not getting to him, then we will know something else is at work and target that, possibly expose it.
I say we storm the gates and flood the place with a personal story and a vision.
Once a week, once a month, every day if you have the time.
But there is a back-fire to this....and that is the approach, my suggestion there, keep it simple. We know that ranting and raving will do no good.
Here is a 'starter pack' of issues:
Put Ron Paul in charge of Economics
Pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and don't go into Iran (or anyplace else)
A full stop on labor/wages tax (nice economic stimulus right?)
Eliminate the IRS (oh, but we need some one to collect taxes, sure as long as it's not the IRS!....how about Ron Paul?)
A reinvestigation of 9/11 (let's start looking at it from a new direction too)
Eliminate the Patriot Act, Homeland Security (can you say, C.O.N.S.T.I.T.U.T.I.O.N?)
Tell the rest of the world that we are a peaceful and Independent Nation that aims to the greater good of all and will no longer be an aggressor (but don't mess with us either)
Cut out all the fluff that politicians get for being a politician (how many houses, are 'on the house' for politicians? and how long do they sit empty? and how many homeless people are out there?)
Feel free to add to the list of issues, your thoughts will stir mine and something more will come to the surface.
Obama has opened the door are we going to go in or just stand there?
