A Recipe for Happiness
It would be wonderful if there were a book or manual that guided us through our day to day lives. It would read like a recipe book for happiness and success. It would give us all the right measurements, ingredients and show us exactly how to put it all together to get the greatest results. It would have to be the bestselling book of all time.
There are probably millions of books out there to access for information and entertainment. Thousands of recipe books, self improvement books, novels and instructional text books have been written. This book would have to be available in most languages and encompass the basis for all the others.Wow! What author would be up to a task as difficult and demanding as that?
He would have to make it readily available for people of all income levels. A book such as this would have to be made available in public libraries, public schools and other places where all members of society could gain equal advantage from all this knowledge. It would be most effective in the early years of child development so as to give children a strong foundation from which to build a successful life.
Imagine all the mistakes that could be averted through the study of such a book. Especially if it contained documentation pertaining to crucial decisions as well as the positive and negative consequences of those choices. A book like that could totally change the world and how we all deal with each other in it. It would be a decisive element for positive social change.
What if this book already existed? What if some of the richest or most successful people in the world were already referencing this book on a daily basis? Perhaps a covert group of intellectuals wanted to keep this information all too themselves. They did not want anyone else to know where the information was coming from. Their pride and ego had caused them to hold back the information from within the book in order to gain worship from the masses. Maybe their lively hood depended on them being the go between in their own personal hierarchy. If the information got out to the common man markets could crumble. Great men would be equal to average men. The whole world as we know it, socially and economically, could change forever.
The effects of the knowledge gained from within the pages of this book would be earth shattering. Yikes! What would life be like under those circumstances? Could people begin to feel safer and self assured? Would sadness and misfortune be a thing of the past? It may be or may not be. I guarantee this though, the more we know the further we will grow. I tell my children, “The more you learn the more you will earn, the more you know the further you will go.” It is a philosophy which is simple and true.
Look around us. Look at all the people you know and that you know of. The most educated and the most intelligent always have more. Why? It is because they have an endless unquenchable thirst for knowledge. This knowledge enables them to make the best possible decisions in every situation they encounter. They see all sides of every given situation. Where others see closed doors they see open windows. It is the window of opportunity.
Opportunity is the key to success. The secret is to, “Recognize opportunity without becoming opportunistic.” Wow! That would have to be in “The Book”. Think about that for a minute. To recognize opportunity is an incredible skill. How many times in our lives have good opportunities passed us by? They could have been financial, spiritual or pretty much anything else. Perhaps we were so absorbed in our own agenda we just brushed them off in the name of efficiency. It does not have to be that way next time though. We need to use our entire God given senses to carefully evaluate circumstance. Sight, sound, smell, touch, imagination and knowledge will all contribute greatly to our success in recognizing potentially life altering opportunities which cross our paths throughout our journey through life.
In this journey we must be careful not to be opportunistic. Webster’s define this as, “Taking advantage of circumstances for self-improving purposes.” This definition seems a little vague. Is this a positive or negative classification? Is an opportunist a good thing to be or a bad thing to aspire to? This would definitely have to be included in “The Book”. I guess we can look at being opportunist in two different ways. One would be the type of person who recognizes opportunities and acts on them with regard to the consequences, good or bad, to other individuals or social groups. The later would be someone who takes advantage of opportunities regardless of the consequences to others. His decision would be made in whole on how he would benefit from his action or inaction regardless of the effects it would have on the lives of others.
Which person would get further in life? Would the gains of a self centered opportunistic person be a true measure of success? There is a huge price to pay for living a life like this. The value of our souls is unfathomable. It is our total being, how we see ourselves, and from which all happiness is derived.
We can spend our entire lives believing that money, power and fame will bring us fulfillment, but it doesn’t. It is only a temporary distraction. How do I know? I read it in a book that contains all that I have spoken of. It is not allowed in many public places. It is very controversial in our society. People who hold it dear and close to their hearts are often the happiest and most ridiculed people around. It is the Holy Bible which contains the awe inspired word of God.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
-Matthew 16:26 (KJV)
The Bible has existed for ages upon ages. It has been added to and translated time and time again. It is the most published and least appreciated book of all times. Our society has been constantly attempting to knock it out of the number one best sellers spot for years. Self improvement guru’s have quoted from it and presented the information from within as if it were their own. Many rich and successful people have followed the principles within it without even knowing they had. Many find out after the fact that they had been following the Word all along. The constitution and the bill of rights have been intentionally misinterpreted in order to pull this greatest book of all times off the shelves, out of our schools and out of our government.
The reason why they take so much offense in it is clear. They want to live their lives as they see fit to live them. By making the word of God offensive they will be on the path to achieving their goals. By forbidding it in the classroom they are attempting to rob our children of the opportunity to see the faults of our society and learn from them. One of my prior teachers once said, “Those who do not learn from history are destining to repeat it.” As I revisit this statement I become ever more frazzled by the relevance of an agenda that keeps one of the oldest and sociological encompassing books of all times out of the classroom. Even more demonstrable is how a book such as the Holy Bible would not be required reading in every classroom and school system worldwide. This should hold especially true in a country which was established with the principles which were inceptive within its inauguration.
So what happened? When did God stop inspiring people to write His word, His thoughts and His aspirations for His people? The secret is that he didn’t. As the Pharisee’s attempted almost two thousand years ago so does the religious establishment attempt today. There has been for years a secret society which exists deep within the walls of today’s religious hierarchy. Education, Titles and Academic credentials are being used in a way to hinder the development of the next testament. Those who have been awakened by God will be as those were thousands of years ago. God’s word will be brought forth to the masses by the common man. The strength of God’s word will engulf their spirits and strengthen their souls. Religious leaders will become frightened and offended by them. Their words will be challenged and rejected by the certified. They will be asked by what authority they speak and shall answer, “I am but a vessel by which the Spirit speaks.”
The knowledge will come to them quickly. They must keep a pen in hand and a pad by their sides at all times. The new word shall come as quickly as the winds of a cyclone and will hit harder those who wish not to believe.
This message I give to those awakened spirits. Take this knowledge quickly to the masses and fail to procrastinate for our time hear is limited. Teach your children immediately so that they will be rightfully equipped to serve Him. Be aware that some journeys take generations to complete. Go without fear to the masses and speak from your heart. Be true to yourselves and they shall see the truth in you. You have been placed where you are for a specific purpose. Recognize the opportunities to share and fear no repercussions. The Lord will be with you always. His word shall be your shield in combat. His love shall warm your hearts and fill your souls with the Holy Spirit. In your journey you shall quickly rise to new levels through the knowledge of the Word.
Be careful to take only what you will need. Make the most of the gifts the Lord has blessed you with. These gifts of knowledge, understanding, skills and finance are all that you will need. As these will never be exhausted. In faith all will be provided to you by our Father in Heaven.
Be careful to resist pride and temptation. This is how Satan will sway you and attempt to render you ineffective. Remember the story of Adam and Eve. Through these things he will attempt to demoralize your character and make your voice mute. Stand straight in the Word and all will be well.
Balance is the key to you rise. Do not become obsessed for all things will develop as they should. Remember your responsibilities to you families and never take them lightly. Through these relationships great wisdom from experience will be brought forth in you. This is the key for which the Lord has promised. From simplicity comes deliverance.
The plan has been made prior to your conception. The blueprint will be followed page by page from dimension to dimension. Be patient throughout your journey and trust in God’s plan.
The book has been written. Read it, understand it and become it. Through it you will find all the answers you will need to fulfill what is required. Go forth in faith without hesitation. -Ronald M. Ash Jr., Apostle, D.D.
